The lack of job opportunities and the high rates of displacement have made many families in Syria find it difficult to secure their daily need for food, which threatens the food security of thousands of individuals – especially children and women – and makes them vulnerable to malnutrition and its severe health consequences.
The food support projects launched by the Takaful Al-Sham Charity aim to secure a minimum of basic food for families in need, both displaced and resident, through the distribution of food baskets containing various materials that cover the individual’s daily nutritional needs, in addition to nutritional supplements intended for children to meet the needs of different age groups in the same family.
These projects started in 2013 and are continuing until now under various names throughout this period, most notably:
Food baskets project – peace – persistence … etc.
The food support projects included the governorates of Aleppo and Idlib and their rural in northern Syria.
