Agriculture and animal husbandry are among the most critical sectors in Syria, as they provide job opportunities, agricultural and animal products; the most important of which are food and fodders. Because of the war, agricultural crops and livestock have been severely damaged, and the unwillingness of many farmers and livestock keepers to restore and maintain the lands and engage in agricultural and livestock activities is common. Due to the absence of government support and the high cost of agricultural inputs and livestock feed has been the major factors leading to the reluctance.
The agricultural and animal husbandry projects launched by Takaful Al Sham are based on providing farmers with the necessary agricultural inputs such as seeds, fertilizer and agricultural tools to invest in their lands and benefit from their crops. It also provides livestock keepers with the necessary fodder, which provides job opportunities, secures food and promotes the concept of self-sufficiency.
The projects covered several areas in Aleppo, its countryside, and Idleb countryside.
